How do you deploy a fiber optic network?

Fiber optics follows an articulated path in two stages:

the deployment "horizontal" is the fact of all operators, which will lay cables in urban areas - essentially - like rural,
the "vertical" deployment is performed by an operator, chosen by the condominium, of connecting the fiber drawn to the bottom of a building to each of the apartments.
Why is it often said that ADSL is the “ancestor” of fiber?
As its name suggests - for most English speakers among us at least - ADSL provides an asymmetric speed. That is to say that the data flow carried is more substantial in one direction than in the other. Here, the upstream data rate of an ADSL communication (upload) is much lower than the downstream rate (download).

By way of comparison, optical fiber allows significantly higher data rates, reaching 100 Mbit / s at least . Undeniably more efficient than ADSL, fiber allows the advent of very high speed in homes when ADSL has made it possible to distribute and then democratize access to broadband in France.
